Established for over 40 years as a haven for both the business and leisure traveller and is situated in a pleasant spot overlooking Recreation Park and the seafront.

The nearest shops/convenience stores are located on Sea Road which is 0.3 miles from the hotel. There is also a Morrisons supermarket 0.5 miles along the sea front towards South Shields. The store is open until 10pm each evening (except Sunday) and there are cash machines on the outside of the store and there is petrol station on the site.
